60km in a day for Movember

Movember aims to tackle men’s health and reduce the number of men dying prematurely by 25 percent by 2030. Our online community On The Tools, has over 3.4million followers, of which 82% are male, so Movember is a cause that really matters to us.

This year many of the team have braved the shave, and one of our Video Producer’s Jordan Leeming decided to go one huge step further and complete a 60km run in a single day to support the charity.

During the month of November, men are encouraged to shave their existing beards or moustaches and ‘Grow a mo’, or commit to running or walking 60 kilometres during the month. The 60km represents the 60 men lost to suicide each hour, every hour across the world.

We caught up with Jordan and asked him about his achievement.

“I wanted to do whatever I could to raise money this Movember so I decided to challenge myself and run 60km in a day. I started my run from my beloved Nottingham Forest ground in West Bridgford, Nottinghamshire, and went on to run 60km arriving at our head office, in Fazeley Tamworth.”

“The run was a big challenge as I’ve not ever ran that far before – over 37 miles! I’m thrilled to have completed it, and certain that by going the extra mile we will raise vital funds to support the charity.”

Adam Barrie, Founder and Creative Director  said: “We’re passionate about men’s health which is why it’s great to get involved in Movember once again. I am rather itchy after starting to grow my moustache, but I know that small sacrifice is nothing in comparison to the bigger picture of mens health. Jordan running 60km was an incredible feat and we’re all so proud of him.

We’re pleased to be able to support such a worthy cause, and raise vital funds to support men’s health.
